Each month, we’ll choose a graphic novel to read and then get together on the last Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM to talk about it. Whether you loved it, hated it, or landed somewhere in between, come ready to share your thoughts and hear what everyone else has to say.
Home-baked cookies and drinks will be provided while we hang out and talk comics!

Not sure what happens at a comic book club? Don’t worry—there’s no homework beyond reading the book, and you definitely don’t need to be a comic expert!
Our conversation might include:
- Favourite moments – What scenes, characters, or moments stood out?
- Characters – Who did you connect with? Did the story change how you see any of the characters?
- Story & themes – What do you think the book was really trying to say?
- Artwork – How did the art, colours, layouts, and visual storytelling affect the experience?
- Writing – What worked about the dialogue, pacing, humour, or emotional moments?
- Surprises & predictions – What caught you off guard? Where do you think the story could go next?
- The good and the bad – What did you love? What didn't work for you?
- Recommendations – What other comics or graphic novels would you recommend to someone who enjoyed this one?
There are no right or wrong answers. Jump into the conversation as much as you like, or simply listen and enjoy hearing what everyone else thought.
You Help Choose What We Read Next!
At the end of each meeting, the group will vote on the book for the following month!
We’ll put forward a selection of comics and graphic novels, and everyone attending will have a chance to vote for what the club reads next.
That means Comics, Cookies & Conversation is your book club—the members help decide where we go next, discover new stories together, and maybe even convince each other to try something we normally wouldn't pick up!
